60th anniversary of the «two liberations» of Luxembourg

The German Nazi troops occupied Luxembourg on the 10th of may 1940.

Luxembourg was liberated a first time the 9th and 10th of September 1944, mostly by the 53/02/06

The Germans launched the Battle of the Bulge on the 16th December 1944; half of the little Grand-Duchy was occupied and suffered great losses – as well as the American troops staying in Luxembourg.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of both liberations, a series of articles in Le Quotidien was written as a hypothetical «war correspondent», with the help of archives.

You will find the pages as printed in the paper in September and December 2004.

Unfortunately, pages are in French. Help for translation of the pdf files will be appreciated.

And once more: thank you boys, today’s veterans.
